Transition to College Workshops

Overview:

The jump to college is a massive change for students. They have to shift the way they organize materials, manage work, and stay productive on a weekly basis.

This program will provide students with the academic and executive functioning skills necessary to be successful in their fall semester at college and beyond. The virtual workshop will provide students with the systems, tools, tricks, and knowledge that they can use to excel during their first semester of college.

Over two, 2-hour sessions, our workshop will cover:

  • Organization systems
  • Time Management strategies
  • Learning about campus resources
  • Practice at advocating for themselves
  • Study skills and planning
  • Goal setting and checklists
  • Tips for college success and more

Structure:

Two, 2-hour sessions

Price:

  • Group Virtual Sessions:
    • Early Bird: $150 until May 31st
    • Full Price: $300
  • 1:1 Sessions:
    • Early Bird: $275 until May 31st
    • Full Price: $550

Study Skills Workshops for Rising 9th and 10th Graders (Madison office)

Note Taking Workshop

Our Note Taking Workshop will teach high school students different note taking methods that they can use in the classroom. In this workshop, students will be introduced to note taking styles, practice, and critique note taking. The objective of this course is to improve students’ note taking skills so they are prepared to use them in high school. REGISTER

Study Skills Workshop

Our Study Skills Workshop introduces current high school students to the ideas, methods, and strategies that it takes to study effectively. In this workshop, students will learn and practice study methods that they can incorporate into their academic lives. The course is intended to sharpen the learning skills of students and help them become more independent. REGISTER

Writing Workshop

Our Writing Workshop breaks down the writing process and helps prepare students for longer writing assignments in the upcoming school year. We will talk about tips and tricks to stay organized, get started, and maintain momentum when tackling writing projects. The objective of this workshop is to make writing feel less intimidating and more manageable for students. REGISTER
