Happy College Decision Day!
During the 2026 admissions cycle, 1.3 million students submitted a whopping 8.5 million college applications using the Common App platform, a 6% increase from last year. Following recent trends, this year brought increasing application volume and selectivity at many colleges and universities. Despite this, our seniors (and college counseling team) had a very successful application cycle!
As our seniors make their final college decisions today, we wanted to take a moment to celebrate Galin’s Class of 2026 and their accomplishments.
This year, Galin seniors….
- submitted 2300+ applications
- received 1400+ acceptances
- were awarded over $29 million in scholarships at 130+ colleges
Those are some numbers worth celebrating!
Who got into UW-Madison?
UW-Madison is by far our “top college,” with more than 150 of our students applying to become Badgers. Like many state flagships, UW-Madison continues to become much more competitive each year, particularly for majors such as business and engineering. As the cost of college rises, this university offers great value for our in-state students and continues to attract even more qualified out-of-state applicants. Galin students were almost twice as likely to get into UW-Madison than the average student.

Where else are they headed?
Our students were accepted to more than 300 unique colleges and universities in the Midwest, across the United States, and beyond. Creating balanced college lists and finding campuses where students will thrive are crucial to our process and our students’ future success.

Highly Selective Outcomes
Our students were also very successful at highly selective colleges across the country. Students were admitted to schools with extremely competitive acceptance rates including but not limited to Harvard, Yale, Stanford, Columbia, Cornell, MIT, Northwestern, University of Chicago, The University of Pennsylvania, Boston College, UC-Berkeley, Dartmouth, and Rice.
