We spend a lot of time talking about the SAT and ACT. But, what about the PSAT? There are many benefits of taking and prepping for the PSAT that students might not know about!

A Baseline Score for the SAT or ACT

The PSAT is a great way to get a baseline score before preparing for the SAT or ACT. Knowing your PSAT can help you make a plan to prepare for either the SAT or ACT. It will help you understand your strengths and areas for improvement.

Good Practice!

Taking the PSAT is a great way to get used to a formal testing setting. Taking practice tests at home isn’t the same as taking a test in an official testing environment. Taking the PSAT is a great opportunity to get familiar with performing under pressure.

National Merit Scholarship

The PSAT, when taken in 11th grade, is the National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (NMSQT). Students who earn National Merit Finalist status can qualify for significant college scholarships and qualify for guaranteed admission to UW-Madison. Read more about the PSAT and National Merit here.

Enhance College Applications and Earn Scholarships

A strong PSAT score can help your college applications stand out! Beyond National Merit, the PSAT can also qualify students for a range of scholarships.

Students can learn more about the PSAT and how to prepare by attending one of our Intro the PSAT Classes in Madison or Milwaukee. Learn more here!
