He attended Harvard University as a first-generation college student, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Cognitive Neuroscience and Evolutionary Psychology, along with a secondary in Art, Film, and Visual Studies, and obtaining a certificate in Latin American Studies. He aims to attend law school and eventually work in immigration and civil rights. Erick co-created the Metamorphosis pre-college mentorship program at Harvard’s Act on a Dream and worked as a College Coach for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Other involvements during his time at Harvard include serving as President of both Harvard’s FIG Magazine (the university’s undergraduate fashion magazine) and the RAZA Mexican Ballet Folklorico group (a folkloric Mexican dance group). He was also an Assistant Director for the Harvard National Model United Nations, served as the Harvard CO-OP Events Chair, and volunteered as a Harvard Ed Portal Level Up Facilitator, mentoring 8th graders in the Allston/Brighton and Cambridge public schools. During the summers between academic years, he worked as a public defender investigator, public policy research assistant, and multimedia production leader.
