Overview
Located in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, Lehigh University is a small, private college with a convenient location especially for students hailing from the New York and Philadelphia metropolitan areas. With highly-regarded engineering and business programs coupled with a robust Greek life system, Lehigh is an excellent home for students driven to work hard and enjoy a great college experience.
Academic
Apart from popular business and engineering majors, Lehigh has a selection of interdisciplinary programs aimed at students with varied interests. The programs include Arts-Engineering, Computer Science and Business, Integrated Business and Engineering Honors, and an Integrated Degree in Engineering, Arts and Sciences.
Social Life
Lehigh’s social life is centered on “the Hill” where almost all of the 19 fraternities and eight sororities are housed. Approximately 30-40% of Lehigh students are involved in Greek life. About two thirds of students live on campus (including 99% of freshmen) and almost all of the other students live near campus in homes and apartments.
Environment
Lehigh University is located in the Lehigh Valley and is home to about 800,000 people. With a beautiful and hilly main campus on top of South Mountain, students get a workout walking down to classes and back up to the dorms, fraternities and sororities. Lehigh also has two additional campuses: one for research and another for its Division I athletics. In total the three contiguous campuses span 2,358 acres.
And one more thing…
Lehigh graduates have a median starting salary of $60,000 and ranks third for salary potential in the northeast (behind Princeton, West Point, and tied with MIT).
